The Role
We are looking for an ambitious, news-driven and hard-working Digital PR Assistant to join our specialist team based in Manchester.
You will be responsible for building relationships with journalists in top tier national and international media publications across a variety of industries in order to gain high quality links for our clients.
You will have a passion for reading the news, follow the latest trends across all channels including social media and have strong writing skills in order to craft strong email pitches to journalists.
You will work closely with our PR Executives and Account Managers to maintain Kaizen’s standards to drive KPI success, as well as also learning about our creative process and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the outreach of our creative campaigns to consistently gain top-tier coverage in national and niche online publications in line with client KPIs
- Write newsworthy pitch emails to journalists with an excellent eye for detail, strong writing flair and an understanding of what makes a strong story
- Regularly follow the news across multiple industries to help determine how to successfully gain cut-through in the press with our client’s content
- Understand the latest trends on key social media platforms to use as part of our outreach strategy to gain results for our clients
- Craft tailored media lists filled with highly relevant journalists to outreach to
- Consistently looking for and executing reactive / newsjacking opportunities for our clients based on news trends
- Adhere to and promote the values of the company
- Contribute creative ideas in our ideation process across a variety of clients
- Share campaigns and ideas that we can aspire to achieving with the team to drive inspiration and creativity
- Work closely with account managers to correctly report on the results of your direct outreach efforts
About You
- Able to commute to our Manchester office 3 days a week during probation and 2-3 days post-probation
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Creative thinker with the ability to think on your feet
- Strong understanding of the news and latest trends
- Team player who is motivated by working with others and a strong communicator
- High attention to detail and pride in your output – your work will be visible to thousands of people
- Experience in a PR or digital role will be a bonus but is not essential
- Ambitious – you want to contribute to the growth of an employee-owned company
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously
